             Pasitos Philosophy

I believe that every child is unique and deserves the best.  Being in a loving and nurturing environment, will give every child the  opportunity to develop at their own pace.  Every child will acquire basic skills that will be the foundation of a great future.  Being exposed to a second language at an early age is a life time opportunity. By listening to the Spanish language  on a daily basis, your child will be receiving the best gift of all.

My name is Virginia Rodriguez, I was born and raised in Mexico city.

I have a degree in Economics from Mexico.  On 1996, my husband was relocated to work in Michigan. My first two kids were born in Mexico and my daughter was born in Rochester, Michigan.

While in Michigan, I worked as an ESL teacher in a public school.  I was in charge of 85 students who needed help with the language.

I also worked as a teacher assistant for preschool, KG and elementary grades when my kids were young.

I have always been involved at church and, I am a  catechist teacher at Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

I opened a bilingual day care in Michigan and I was just fascinated to see how easy little kids learn a second language even if their parents did not speak it.

I had my day care for 6 years, before we moved to Carmel. I  started once again to work as a substitute in the schools and I worked for a year and a half as a teaching assistant in the life skills room.

I got my degree from Indiana Wesleyan University as a Secondary Spanish Teacher.

I did my student teaching at Westfield middle school and Zionsville High school, I taught Spanish at University HS for a year and a half while covering another maternity leave.

Although I enjoyed it a lot, I was missing my little ones.

So, on January of 2010, I decided to open a Spanish Immersion Preschool named  Mi Escuelita.

On 2012 I opened a new program, I have had my preschool, now known as Pasitos and,  it has been great to see how my little ones grow in all areas.  I have a passion for teaching and I enjoy every minute of it.
